Los Delfines is right downtown, next door to the Lord Pierre hotel.
Very small (only 34 rooms) built in the fashion of and old time Florida motel.
Completely renovated so everything is practically brand new.
"U" shaped, 2 stories, the open side of the "U" facing the ocean, with a small and very nice pool in the middle. Very cozy.
The manager and assistant manager, Paulina, and Jenny, as well as some of the staff were trained by Alvaro Prado.
(currently is in charge of Royal Decameron Beach Resort, Golf, Spa & Casino Panama).
And you can tell by the way Delfines is operated.
The place is kept spotless. They clean the sliding doors every day. They clean the siding, they clean everything.
Dining room's open air with a roof over most of it. All meals are a la carte.
They do set up a very small buffet for breakfast and lunch as well.
Menus are not very extensive and do not change, but there's a daily chefs special at lunch and dinner, we had several of these and it was always very good.
The food is actually excellent, and overall we found it better then all the other Decamerons, even the Marazul.
Dining room staff is very friendly and attentive. If you don't speak Spanish, there's always someone on hand that speaks English.
Pool bar service was very friendly with a decent selection of brands.
Most of the rooms are what I would call "standard size", nicely decorated, all furniture is in new condition. There's a small fridge in every room.
The maids do en excellent job, we newer had to ask for anything. Soap, towels etc, all was always there.
We always had hot water with pressure close what we're used to.
The only downside: there are some bars across the street, and a disco 2 doors down, so it can get noisy at night, on the weekends.
This of course is NOT the hotels fault.
Mind you, the room we were in we could hardly hear any of this.
We have stayed at all Decamerons, except Maryland.
Did we like Los Delfines - YES very much so. Would we come back - in a heartbeat
ALL ABOVE ARE PERSONAL OPINIONS.
